Ginormous IS a word
I've dropped the word "ginormous" into conversations previously. I always kicked myself for using such a word around intelligent company. I feared the word would be perceived as juvenile or something (yup, it is). But now it's a word--at least according to Merriam-Webster. I still think I shouldn't use it too often. I like ginormous. I also use awesome and sweet a lot still though. I think that rad needs to make a come back, and fresh is not used nearly enough in a non-produce sense.
I love that word! I used it last summer when I was still a lowly nanny...the kid I was nannying for said it in front of his mom, who responded, "that's not even a word, where did you hear that?" And he ratted me out. I am glad to know that it finally made the cut, though, like you, will limit my usage!
